What I collect, why, and what happens to it — in plain language.

This policy explains, in plain language, what Online Piano University collects, why, and what happens to it. Online Piano University is operated by Dr. Maria Pisarenko in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. If anything here is unclear, write to maria@onlinepianouniversity.com and I will answer personally.
The short version. I collect your email address if you ask for the Starter Guide, and your recording if you send your playing for feedback. Recordings are used only to prepare your feedback — they are never published, never shared, and never sold. You can ask me to delete anything at any time.
Collected only when you enter it yourself — to receive the free Adult Beginner’s Piano Starter Guide, or to receive feedback on a recording you sent. I do not buy lists and I do not add anyone who did not ask.
If you use the Get Feedback form, you send an audio or video file of yourself playing, the lesson number you played, and optionally a note about what you found difficult. Video is normally hands-and-keyboard only; audio alone is always acceptable.
Anything you write to me by email, including your name and whatever you choose to tell me about your playing.
Like any website, this one is served by a host that records standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. If website analytics are enabled, aggregate statistics about visits are collected — how many people read a page, which pages they came from — not who you are.
I do not collect payment card details on this website. If you buy lessons, payment is handled entirely by the payment provider on their own secure pages; I never see your card number.
That is the complete list. I do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose you did not ask for.
Your recording is analyzed with the help of an AI assistant built on my own teaching method, and during this pilot I personally read and approve every piece of feedback before it reaches you. Your recording is processed only for that purpose. It is not used to train any public AI model, it is not published, and it is not shared with anyone else.

Some pages link to instruments and books on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Amazon sets its own cookies when you follow such a link; what Amazon does then is governed by Amazon’s privacy policy, not this one. I only recommend things I actually use and teach with.
This site uses cookies and browser storage sparingly: to keep the site working offline where your browser supports it, and — where analytics are enabled — to count visits. There is no advertising tracking on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the course and the pages will still work.
Wherever you live, you may ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights granted by the GDPR, including the right to object and the right to data portability, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know, delete, and opt out of any sale of personal information — and I want to be plain about this: I do not sell personal information at all.

This website and its free course are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent me something, write to me and I will delete it.
I work from the United States, and the services listed above are largely based there. If you write to me from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US and other countries where those providers operate.
The site is served over HTTPS and access to recordings and email addresses is limited to me. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send me anything you would not want stored on an ordinary computer.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced by email to subscribers.
